March 2026 Update: Skeleton Rigs, Composite Sprites, and Hardened Security

A massive leap forward for the GAS ecosystem

Kristian MandrupMarch 12, 20268 min read

March has been an incredibly productive month for the GameVault Platform. We've rolled out features that have been in development for months, ranging from advanced AI generation to enterprise-grade security. Here is a breakdown of what's new in the GAS ecosystem.

Advanced Sprite Animation Pipeline

Our sprite animation system has evolved beyond simple frame-based generation. We've introduced a robust skeleton rig system that supports complex creature types, including multi-limbed hexapods and octopods, as well as riders (mounted characters). Each rig comes with pre-defined animation actions that translate perfectly into your engine of choice.

Composite Sprites & Marketplace Evolution

The marketplace now supports 'Composite Sprites' — multi-part assets that can be dynamically assembled. This allows for modular character customization, equipment swapping, and more. Behind the scenes, we've implemented Phase 4 and 5 of our composite sprite plan, including database schema updates, new APIs, and MCP integration for AI-assisted assembly.

Security Hardening: 2FA and API Versioning

Security is paramount as we grow. We've added Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA) support for all accounts, giving you peace of mind that your assets and earnings are protected. Additionally, we've introduced API versioning and per-user rate limiting to ensure platform stability and a predictable developer experience.

Generator Core: Plugin Architecture

We've extracted our generation logic into a new `@gamevault/generator-core` package. This modular architecture allows us (and soon, you!) to build custom asset generators as plugins. It's the foundation for our future AI-driven tools, making it easier than ever to add support for new engines and asset types.

Continuous Improvements

Beyond these major features, we've finalized our i18n migration (supporting 5 languages!), overhauled our API documentation with OpenAPI specs, and added Sentry support for better error tracking across the platform. The project audit is complete, and we're moving faster than ever toward our 1.0 release.
